We live in a world where we may be connected to thousands by the click of a button and yet feel disconnected with ourselves and the ones closest to us. We no longer have the time or space to look at our emotions or the beauty around. We feel tired, stressed, hurt, and angry. We are losing hair, gaining inches, and falling ill often. The spark that made us special seems to be dying. We no longer know for sure what it is that we really want. We laugh, but deep inside something is missing and often that missing thing is our self. I believe that we can reconnect to a state of health, harmony and happiness through yoga, food and fun. The only way to live is to live life to the fullest.

Happiness Comes From Your Actions

“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your actions”- Dalai Lama.

Find out what makes you happy – it could be watching a plant grow, a child sleep or a friend smile. Create a list of ten simple events that make you happy and ensure these activities every day. Don’t fret about things like deadlines and squabbles. Did you know that those who help others are less prone to sorrow? It takes maturity and empathy to see beyond our petty lives, to be able to help another being. Go on and help someone who cannot repay you. Enjoy your ten happy activities every day.

Happiness Comes From Your Thoughts

The most negative and positive place on this Earth, exist in our own minds. Create the habit of thinking happy thoughts. Repeating personal affirmations or mantras are powerful ways to make your mind positive. One of my favorites is “heavens shower me with everything I need”. Make your mantra something that you relate with. Repeat a hundred times as you wake up and before you sleep.

Happiness Comes From Sweating It Out

Almost every lifestyle illness, both physical and mental, can be alleviated by proper exercise. Unfortunately these days exercise or sports are yet another mode to ‘show off.’ Hit the treadmill, the yoga mat or elliptical, just to enjoy the feeling of sweat dripping, your muscles moving, and breath quickening instead of worrying about a six pack. Soon you will be able to notice the ‘high’ people get from exercising. Exercise at least for an hour; after all, that is only 4% of your day.

Happiness comes from learning

Learn something new each month. It could be useful, such as healthy cooking or frivolous like how to braid hair. Learning gives us the opportunity to come across new ideas, helps us stay curious and keeps the mind engaged. Even elders, who make it a habit to learn new things, are known to be happier and healthier. So go on give yourself a confidence boost, learn something new this month.

Happiness comes from being wholesome

Is your life stuck to the screen, or to just one person? Do yourself a big favor, make your life wholesome. Go outdoors, play, smile, hug, laugh, dream, desire, and connect. Notice the world around you, enjoy each bit of it. Do not get stuck to one thing, because the day that thing or person goes away; you will be in big trouble. Create simple goals for the month that helps you to make your life more wholesome. Reclaim your life, reconnect with yourself.

TIPS

Become the most joyful and useful version of yourself with these five steps.

  • Do ten simple, economical happy deeds daily.
  • Do one good deed each day.
  • Wake up and repeat your affirmations 100 times with hope. At night repeat your affirmations with gratitude.
  • Each month, learn something new, for the joy of learning and knowing.
  • Each month, take stock of your life and ask yourself,” how can I make my life more wholesome?” Do the needful

Don’t let setbacks, deadlines or a bad day stop you from doing the above.

Don’t let others belittle your happiness. Find ways to bounce back.

Don’t do the above for lip service. Be mindful and do it from your heart.

Why Priyanka Chopra’s Choice Can Energize and Strengthen Your Body

Published

on

Priyanka Chopra, the renowned actress and global icon, leads a wholesome life when she’s not busy with events and commitments. Alongside her DIY skincare hacks, she engages in various fitness activities such as swimming, cycling, yoga, bodyweight exercises, and weightlifting. Swimming, in particular, holds a special place in her heart, as she finds it not only energizing but also mood-boosting. In this article, we explore the reasons why swimming is an excellent exercise for holistic well-being and why you should consider incorporating it into your fitness routine.

Swimming is a comprehensive workout that engages different muscle groups, providing extensive training for the body. It enhances strength, stamina, and cardiovascular fitness. Beyond the physical benefits, swimming also stimulates positive mental well-being. Research suggests that swimming can ease anxiety and depressive symptoms, promote a sense of well-being, and elevate mood and energy levels. By diving into the water, you dive into a pool of mental stimulation and rejuvenation.

One of the remarkable aspects of swimming is its low-impact nature. The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints and minimizes the risk of impact-related injuries, making it an ideal exercise for people of all ages and fitness levels. Additionally, swimming can aid in rehabilitation after injuries, as it reduces stress on bones, joints, and connective tissues. Individuals with arthritis, joint pain, or those recovering from injuries can benefit greatly from swimming as part of their rehabilitation program.

Swimming serves as an excellent aerobic activity, providing a workout for the heart and lungs. Regular swimming trains the body to utilize oxygen more effectively, resulting in a decrease in resting heart rate and breathing rate. The muscles in the arms, legs, and core are all utilized during swimming, enhancing their power, flexibility, and endurance. Moreover, swimming can help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease, and improve overall heart health.

Swimming is an effective calorie-burning exercise. A leisurely swim can burn around 500 calories per hour, while a more intense session could burn up to 700 calories. Not only does swimming burn calories, but it also helps build lean muscle, which boosts metabolism. By increasing your lean muscle mass, you increase your body’s calorie-burning potential. Therefore, swimming can be an excellent aid in weight loss or weight maintenance, while also improving overall metabolic rate.

Swimming promotes flexibility and joint mobility due to the range of motion required during swimming movements. The water’s supportiveness allows for stretching and loosening of muscles, which can enhance overall flexibility. Whether you want to improve your range of motion during other exercises or simply feel more agile in daily life, swimming is a great way to increase flexibility and improve joint mobility. Regular swimming can also enhance muscle endurance, contributing to improved overall fitness.

Following Priyanka Chopra’s footsteps, incorporating swimming into your fitness routine can provide numerous benefits for both your body and mind. Swimming offers a well-rounded approach to fitness, enhancing strength, stamina, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility. It is a low-impact exercise suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Moreover, swimming aids in weight management, calorie burning, and metabolic boost. By diving into the pool, you not only get a full-body workout but also experience the positive mental effects of swimming. So, jump in and swim your way to energized and fit well-being.
