There is something for everyone, as Goa is more than its gorgeous beaches and hot party destinations. For many, Goa is not just a holiday spot, but a promise.

For those wishing to revel in the laidback atmosphere and drink in the ease of life, the Holiday Village, Goa from Vivanta by Taj is an ideal destination. The 5 star resort is one of many Taj Hotels in Goa and is a delightful destination for corporate outings and family vacations.

Lost in the Landscape

The Holiday Village paints quite a welcome with its picturesque driveway and the warm reception area. The grounds are surrounded by lawns and local flora, that instills the fact that you are on a beach side holiday. The architecture is inspired from the region with arched windows, wooden ceilings and tiled floors, a Goan Portuguese style. The cottages and villas are spread across the landscape and offer exquisite views of the sunset or the garden. They have traditional balcaos or verandahs, where you can relax on planter’s chairs. The Holiday Village even has a pillow menu, where you can choose from a list of pillows that will ensure that your holiday is uniquely restful.

Spoilt for Choice

With three restaurants and a modern lounge to boast off, the resort offers a delicious experience. The Caravela has a laid back ambience to enjoy a wide range of North Indian cuisines. With an open kitchen, they offer buffet or special menus on which you can indulge in as per your preference. The Beach House is the seafood speciality restaurant and a must on your checklist. Try the fusion food while you sip on a glass of Cashew Feni. The beachside favorite drinks are mostly Mojito or a Pina Colada, which is a must try at the modern lounge, Drift.

Last, but not the least, is the Banyan Tree, where we enjoyed a memorable meal. A three hundred year old banyan tree, the namesake of the restaurant, stands an imposing figure in the Asian style garden. One can enjoy meals in the breezy verandahs surrounding the building or in the air conditioned central room. We chose to sit inside as we were rather sunkissed from our day at the beach. The sunlight poured into the the wood and glass paneled room and it was rather a perfect setting to enjoy the delicious Thai cuisine that they served. We started off with a perfect temperature pina colada served in trendy golden pineapple bowls and an apple cinnamon martini. This was followed by a prawn starter that picked up the heat and send us in a seafood tissy. A crunchy fresh raw papaya salad cooled it off. Soft Shell Crab was our choice for main course and it was a delight to cut into the perfectly cooked crab meat. Of course, no meal is complete without dessert and we asked for their most popular, Sweet water chestnuts in coconut milk, which was served in a coconut shell.

Out and About

Sinquerim is situated in North Goa and has a pristine beach which is very different from its neighbour, the tourist hot spot, Candolim Beach. The Holiday Village shares a private area of the beach with its neighboring Fort Aguada Resort, also from Taj Hotels. This beach has coarse instead of fine sand and a beautiful shoreline. The hotel has beach services to ensure that you have a safe and fun time by the water. If you are in the mood for a bit more sightseeing, rent a cycle or bike from right outside the resort, and head up the winding roads towards Fort Aguada. The drive in itself is beautiful, culminating in the glorious view from the historic fort. The Holiday Village, Goa is a great choice for a relaxed holiday and their services will ensure that you leave the place feeling rejuvenated.
